Peter Schmeichel - the Great Dane -  has announced he is ready to become a manager, but not for
Manchester City.

The former Manchester United and Manchester City goalkeeper - honored several times for his impressing career - is ready to step into the limelight again, as a manager. The goalkeeper has earlier been the owner of his childhood club Hvidovre, from which he withdraw in 2002, and has since then been a BBC and SkySport expert as well as host on Danish television.

As soon as in 2007, Schmeichel tried to buy his way into the Danish club Brondby, which has been and is in a serious economic crisis. However, this never happened and instead the Dane is going for a manager job he revealed on twitter.

However, we shouldn't expect to see Schmeichel in the Premier League in the near future. On twitter,  he revealed that we was looking to apply for several jobs this summer but that he knew it would be hard to become a manager in the Premier League. Instead, he is aiming for the lower divisions. However, should Alex Ferguson offer a job as an assistant manager, the Dane wouldn't hesitate to accept the offer.

It is going to be interesting to see who will hire the former Danish national. He clearly is a big name, not only in British football, but all over the world. That said, Schmeichel does not have any coach or manager license why the opportunities might be few. Next stop could well be a Danish Superliga club for the Danish legend.
