Arsenals best signing this window is without a doubt Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. The Chile international can be used on both wings and up front and will is an enforcement of the Arsenal attack. Danny Welbeck is a player with potential, but I am sure most Arsenal fans would have preferred a defender rather than a striker on the last day of the window. Bacary Sagna and Thomas Vermaelen have left the club, and with Debuchy joining to take over where Sagna left and Calum Chambers joining as a player for the future, the defend seems weaker than last season. Though Mertesacker and Koscielny both seems to be made of iron and never gets injured, a single injury will put the defend under pressure.

Most of Paul Lamberts young signings last season are sold or on loan in another club. Instead, the manager have brought in some more experienced players as Philippe Senderos, Joe Cole and Kieran Richardson. Even better, he has brought them in for free after spending a fortune last summer. The new signings will contribute to a young side, and hopefully help Villa to a position in the middle of the table. The last day signing of Tom Cleverley from Manchester United looks like a panic signing, but the midfielder can bring some power to the Villa side.

Newly promoted Burnley FC have spend £7,79m this summer hoping to stay in the Premier League. The money have been spend on experience with names as Steven Reid, George Boyd and most of all Matthew Taylor. The Polish striker Lukas Jutkiewicz, brought in from Middlesbrough is an interesting signing; the 1,85 meter tall attacker scored 15 goals during his time in Middlesbrough, and it will be interesting to see if he can make it for a Premier League club.

Jose Mourinho is the winner of the transfer window this summer. Not only have he got rid of the veterans - Cole, Lampard and Eto'o - he also cashed in on players as David Luiz, Romelu Lukaku and Demba Ba. Also gone is Fernando Torres and have been replaced by Diego Costa, and what a change; Costa have already proven that he is a top striker, but so was Torres when he arrived. Didier Drogba is also back in the blue shirt, but the veteran shall not expect much time on the pitch this season. Fabregas has been brought in to strengthen the midfield, and with his experience mixed with talents up front, Chelsea could well be the league winners this season.

Crystal Palace wants to stay in the Premier League after a good last season. While the overall departures have been reserves, Palace have managed to get hold of some of the old boys in the Premier League; Brede Hangeland, Kevin Doyle and Andy Johnson. Furthermore, Palace have brought back Wilfried Zaha on a loan deal, and the attacker, who never got the chance in Manchester United, might be more likely to become a profile in a lower ranged club as Crystal Palace.

Roberto Martinez has kept the core of last seasons squad and very importantly gotten Romelu Lukaku on a permanent deal. While Lacine Traoré was no real success for the Toffees, they are hoping the signing of Samuel Eto'o on a free transfer will be more successful. Gareth Barry have signed from a free transfer and will add experience to a young team with a great future. Everton did well last season, and with the adding to the squad, Everton should also be playing European football next season.

Hull City have gone through a major upgrade of the squad with Hatem Ben Arfa, Robert Snodgrass and Jake Livermore joining the club. Especially, the attack seems strengthened and with the signing of Thomas Ince they have a player for the future. However, the big question is if the signings will go well together as especially Ben Arfa is known to be a troublemaker. If everything works well for Hull they could end as a team just outside the top of the Premier League.

The newly promoted Leicester City have not spent much nor earned much this transfer window. Over the summer, they have made numerous loan deals from Manchester United and added free transfers to their squad; most notably Esteban Cambiasso of Inter Milan. The 43-year old Argentinian/Italian defensive midfielder may be over the hill, but he can add some experience to an unproven Leicester City.

After last season's disappointing end to the season, Liverpool decided to go on a shopping spree this summer. Problem child Luis Suarez went to Barcelona and in came another troublemaker; Mario Balotelli. Brendan Rodgers will get his hands full, but if he can control Ballo, he will have a top striker in his squad. Besides bringing in Balotelli, Liverpool decided to buy Southampton's success trio Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert and topped up with the talent Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen. However, when some come in others have to leave, and it might take the fans some time to forgive Rodgers for selling the club icon Daniel Agger.

Total: £29,52m

While Liverpool have been the big spenders this summer, Manchester City - very unlike their past - have only spent £57,65m. Fernando and Elaquim Mangala from Porto are two interesting signings that will match the City-philosophy well, while the Frank Lampard - the Chelsea favorite - will add some experience both on and off the pitch. Micah Richards finally found a new club, and even though it is only a loan deal, this was they best for him at the moment. Managing to keep the core of the squad, Manchester City are, once again favorites for the title.

There has been a sale going on since the end of last season, and especially after van Gaal have taken over. Gone are Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic and Danny Welbeck. While the centre back positions have not been strengthened during the summer, Luke Shaw have been signed for the left back. Angel di Maria is United's biggest signing this summer as Falcao looks like a desperate decision on the last day of the window. With Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney up front, it is hard to see the need for another striker.

Queens Park Rangers are back in the Premier League and was hoping to keep Loïc Remy in the club. However, the French striker joined Chelsea and leaves QPR with a problem in the attack. However, the defend is very experienced with Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker joining the squad, and if they manage to help Leroy Fer reach his potential it looks promising for the midfield as well. That said, QPR will struggle to stay in the Premier League.

Southampton have lost the most prominent names from last season and have used the summer to rebuild the squad with players as Dusan Tadic, Shane Long and Toby Alderweireld. However, the squad looks weaker than last season, and they might not be as dominant as they were last season. Especially Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren will be missed and have not been replaced by player of same levels.

Stoke did not get the work permission for the American talent Juan Agudelo and have had to let him go on a free transfer. Instead, they have brought in the former Manchester United striker Mama Diouf, who have had great success with Hannover 96 in the German 1. Bundesliga. Another great, and surprising, signing is Bojan Krkic from Barcelona, and it will be interesting to see of he can make it in the Premier League. The attack looks rather promising this season, but Stoke is known to play rather simple and that with limit their chances, despite their signings.

But, the most prominent signing is Jack Rodwell from Manchester City. The talented midfielder never got a chance at Manchester City and by taking a step down to Sunderland may be what he needs to get his career back on track. Rodwell can, without a doubt, develop to be a leading player for Sunderland.

Garry Monk has spent the summer clearing out most of the Michael Laudrup signings. Most of the Spanish guarde is gone, but also profiles as Ben Davis and Michel Vorm are now a part of the past in Swansea City. Instead, Monk have brought back Gylfi Sigurdsson to Wales as well as Lukasz Fabianski to replace Vorm. However, the most interesting signing is Bafetimbi Gomis who have had a great career in French football.

Tottenham had a good last season and are hoping to build on with a few new signings. Michel Vorm has been brought in, but his future is on the bench, as it is unlikely he will kick Lloris out of the goal. Ben Davies is another good signing that will contribute to a strong squad.

West Bromwich barely made it last season and have been determined to strengthen the squad during the summer. Georgios Samaras is their best signing, and the former Celtic star will make a difference for the club this season. Sebastien Pocognoli is not a bad signing either, as he comes with experience from Italian Serie A and the German 1. Bundesliga. However, despite the signings West Brom will still be found in the lower part of the table by the end of the season.

Big Sam has been ordered to play more entertaining football this season, and by his signings during the transfer window, it looks as he has listened to the board. Enner Valencia has been brought into the attack and can turn out to be a new profile in the Premier League; Morgan Amalfitano will help him on his way. The central midfield has also been strengthened with the signing of Alex Song, who will give the front men more freedom to play.
