What's worth watching this week?
Week 15
Great
Dane Football Blog - UK Edition gives a view on what's worth watching
in football. This week features the German 1. Bundesliga, Portuguese Primeira Liga as well as the FA Cup. A great week
for football fans!
Newcastle United is just worth watching this season. The team from the north has showed some fantastic football this season, and with Cisse as primus motor, I am looking forward to this one. Bolton is struggling in the lower end of the table and will do anything to put a stick in Newcastle’s wheel, in order to save themselves from relegation. However, I believe Newcastle will be too strong for Bolton, and this match may generate s couple of goals. Enjoy watching, the goal machine!

Sporting Lisbon - Benfica
Primeira Liga Round 26
Estádio José Alvalade
09-04-2012 at 20.15 UTC/GMT + 1
Head-to-head (last 10 matches):
Sporting Lisbon: 1 victory / 6 goals
Draws: 2
Benfica: 7 victories / 13 goals
Both Benfica and Sporting are desperate to win this match, as they both need three points. Benfica can with a win bring them, only one point away from Porto positioned as the number one in the Portuguese league. On the other hand, Sporting can with a win take a vital step into qualifying directly to the Europa League. Sporting is in a good streak, with three wins and one draw in the last four matches; however, they have not won against Benfica since 2009. This match is worth watching, as both teams is known for a high level of technical football players, and we might get to see a couple of goals.
Borussia Dortmund - Bayern Munich
1. Bundeslga
Westfalenstadium
11-04-2012 at 19.00 UTC/GMT + 1
Head-to-head (last 10 matches):
Borussia Dortmund: 4 victories / 13 goals
Draws: 4
Bayern Munich: 4 victories / 20 goals
This week features a top clash between the most winning team in Germany, Bayern Munich with 21 Bundesliga titles, and last year’s champions Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund is currently positioned as the number one in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich three points behind. This match is guaranteed to generate goals a respectively, number one on the top scorer list Munichs Mario Gomez and number three Dortmunds Robert Lewandowski are likely to be in the starting XI. Bayern Munich has not won against Dortmund since March 2010 and is starving to get three points. I am defiantly looking forward to this one!
Liverpool FC - Everton
FA Cup Semifinals
Anfield Road
14-04-2012 at 12.30 UTC/GMT + 1
Head-to-head (last 10 matches):
Liverpool FC: 5 victories / 14 goals
Draws: 4
Everton: 1 victory / 6 goals
The FA Cup semifinal features the Merseyside Derby, the classic match between Liverpool and Everton. Liverpool has so far had a terrible season and has not won in four matches now. This will be the chance for the players to show their fans, what they are actually capable of, and I think we will see an attacking Liverpool right from the start. Everton, on the other hand, is on a good streak with three wins and one draw in the last four games, and given they have lost the last two Merseyside Derbies, they are hungry for a victory. The Merseyside is always worth watching!

Tottenham Hotspur - Chelsea FC
FA Cup Semifinals
White Hart Lane
15-04-2012 at 18.00 UTC/GMT + 1
Head-to-head (last 10 matches):
Tottenham Hotspur: 2 victories / 12 goals
Draws: 6
Chelsea FC: 2 victories / 14 goals
Number three and four in the Premier League meets in the FA Cup Semifinals, when Tottenham Hotspur takes on Chelsea on White Hart Lane. Chelsea is back on track after Di Matteo took over the steering wheel and has not lost in five matches. Tottenham started out the season in terrific form but have fallen back since, with some rather weak performances. However, the result of the semifinal could also show which of the teams would end highest in the league.
