ASTON VILLA

Injuries: 8

Aston Villa is still struggling in the bottom of the Premier League, and the injury situation is not helping manager Paul Lambert. Marc Albrighton and Shay Given are both doubtful for the weekends match against West Bromwich Albion. The first with a foot injury and the latter with a hamstring injury. Chris Herd is also out with a foot injury while Bennett is out with an illness. However, there is a slight chance both of them will be ready for the weekend. Both Darren Bent and Gary Gardner are out with knee injuries, but Bent is close to a comeback while Gardner will be out until at least the end of the season. There is currently no return dates of Dunne and Petrov.

Another team struggling in the bottom of the Premier League is Queens Park Rangers. Harry Redknapp is missing seven players, three of them due to a hamstring injury. Those three are Esteban Granero, David Holliet and Hogan Ephraim. Traore is out with a knee injury for an unknown time while Johnson is out with the same injury until March 2013. The striker Bobby Zamora is out until the end of this month while Bosingwa is out for an unknown time due to a back injury. QPR will also have to do without Diakite, taking part in the African Cup of Nations for Mali.

NEWCASTLE UNITED FC

Injuries: 6

The toons can be lucky to have Danny Simpson back from his broken toe, and Stuart Taylor and Hatem Ben Arfa back from their hamstring injuries for the weekend. However, the fans have to look a little further for Gosling, Vuckic and Taylor. Tiote is also unavailable due to his participation in the African Cup for Nations for the Ivory Coast.

West Bromwich Albion is currently without six players. However, both Shane Long, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Claudio Yacob can be ready for the weekends match against Queens Park Rangers. Zoltan Gera is out with an ACL knee injury until October 2013 while there is no known return date of Peter Odemwingie. Steven Reid will be back from his shin injury within this week. Yussuf Mulumbu is taking part of the African Cup of Nations for DR Congo.

The Hammers will have three players returning within this week; Joey O'Brein, Diame and Carroll are all close to be ready. While Mark Noble is doubtful for the weekend, Collins and McCarthy is out for an unknown time. West Ham will also have to do without Mobido Maiga who is representing Mali in the African Cup of Nations.

Wigan will play Sunderland Saturday in a very important match. However, they will have to do without Ramis who is out for the rest of the season, and Miyachi, Watson, Crusat and Alcaraz. Meanwhile, Piscu might be ready for the weekend after his hamstring injury. Arouna Koné is playing at the African Cup of Nations.

The Cottagers are missing a couple of midfielders at the moment. Both Sidwell and Davies are out for an unknown time. The same matters for Frei who is out with a groin injury, and Etheridge who is struggling with a soar muscle. Diarra is out with a knee injury until the end of this month.

Wayne Rooney is finally ready to return and is in play for the weekend's match against Tottenham. Vidic, however, is doubtful due to a concession and will be tested up to the match. Both Lindegaard and Young are reported close to a comeback, but this is still to be confirmed while Evans is given a 75% chance of playing.

Howson and Surman are doubtful for the Canaries match against Liverpool Saturday. Both Steve Morison and John Ruddy are set to return from their thigh injuries next week while there is no return date of Steven Whittaker.

Darren Gibson is the only player on Everton's injury list with a return date. He is set to return from his hip injury by the end of this month. The return dates of Heitinga, Hibbert and Mirallas, is still to be confirmed.

City is trailing Manchester United in the top of the league and needs a win against Fulham to keep up. Luckily for the Citizens they have Sergio Agüero back for the weekend while Jack Rodwell will return next week. There is currently no return date of Maicon, struggling with a knee injury and Micah Richards who is out with a cartilage knee injury. Furthermore, both Toure brothers and Abdul Razak are away for the African Cup of Nations.

Southampton is probably without their wonderboy, Luke Shaw for the weekend due to a gashed leg. Both Fonte and Lallana are out with knee injuries until mid February while Do Prado is out with an illness for an unknown time. Mayuka is representing Zambia in the African Cup of Nations.

Both Carlos Cuellar and Danny Rose are out with hamstring injuries, and their return dates are still to be confirmed. Sunderland will also have to do without Lee Cattermole and Wes Brown, both out with knee problems.

The Gunners finally seems to have control of their injury list. However, three players are still there; Arteta, Giroud and Fabianski. Giroud is set to return from his knee injury this week while both Fabianski and Arteta will return in February. Gervinho has left Arsenal to join Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations.

Spurs are missing the two defenders William Gallas and Younes Kaboul until mid February while Sandro is doubtful for the weekend. Adebayor has left to join Togo.
