New layout for the Wednesday Update, but still as many injuries as always. Here is the Wednesday Update!












ARSENAL

Injuries: 3


Diaby is close to returning to full fitness after his thigh injury, and will probably be ready for the Swansea match on the 16th of March. Kieran Gibbs is also out with a thigh injury but still has a couple of weeks of the pitch. The same matters for Bacary Sagna suffering from a knee injury.

ASTON VILLA

Injuries: 6

Villa will take on Reading on Saturday without Marc Albrighton while Darren Bent will be tested prior to the match. Both players are sidelined with a foot injury. Richard Dunne is a long way from a returning from his groin injury after suffering a setback in training. The same matters for Gary Gardner and Stilian Petrov who is out for the rest of the season. Captain Ron Vlaar is returning to the training ground this week after suffering from a calf injury and is doubtful for the Reading match.

Fabian Delph is serving a 2 match ban after receiving his tenth yellow card against Manchester City.

CHELSEA

Injuries: 2


Yossi Benayoun is out with an ankle injury and is unlikely to be available for the Swansea match this weekend. Oriol Romeu is rated out for approximately four months due to his knee injury.

Injuries: 2

Tim Howard was unavailable for the match against Reading this weekend, due to a knock. He is still rated doubtful for the Manchester City match, but is likely to play. Phil Jagielka sustained an ankle injury against Reading which will keep him sidelined for two weeks.

Injuries: 4


Mahamadou Diarra is still out with his knee injury, but Fulham is hoping to have him back by the end of this month. Neil Etheridge is still sidelined for an unknown time with a leg injury while both Kerim Frei and Eyong Enoh are in lack of match fitness.

Injuries: 5


Fabio Borini sidelined for six to eight weeks due to his dislocated shoulder while both John Flanagan and Martin Kelly still are out with knee problems. Meanwhile, both Martin Skrtel and Daniel Sturridge has returned to training and is doubtful for the Tottenham match.

MANCHESTER CITY

Injuries: 5

Manchester City has added two players to their injury list. Sergio Aguero sustained a knee injury prior to the Villa match this weekend and is rated doubtful for this weekend. Jack Rodwell has been ruled out for three to two weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury against Aston Villa while Vincent Kompany is close to a comeback. Meanwhile, both Micah Richards and Maicon are out with knee injuries.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Injuries: 4

Phil Jones is ruled out with an ankle injury while both Paul Scholes and William Keane are out with knee injuries. Darren Fletcher is out after having undergone surgery to resolve his Ulcerative Colitis condition.

After a week's recovery Hatem Ben Arfa is likely to return for Newcastle following his long-term hamstring injury. The same matters for Fabricio Colocini who has been out with a back injury and Steve Harper who has knee troubles. Tim Krul is ruled out with an ankle injury while both Ryan Taylor and Haris Vuckic are out with knee injuries.

John Ruddy is till out with a thigh injury while Andrew Surman is out with a knee injury, and Alexander Tettey is out with a knock.

QUEENS PARK RANGERS

Julio César might return this weekend against Sunderland, following his dead leg. Meanwhile, both Adam Johnson and Bobby Zamora will be unavailable.

Goalkeeper Adam Federici is likely to return against Aston Villa this week, along with Jimmy Kébé. Alex McCarthy and Jason Roberts, on the other hand, will be sidelined for the match.

Daniel Fox and Adam Lallana are both doubtful for the Norwich match this weekend. The first is out with a knock and the latter with a knee injury.

Pavel Pogrebnyak can join Alex McCarthy and Jason Roberts in the stands when he is serving his second of the three match ban.

STOKE CITY

Injuries: 2

Matthew Etherington has been out with a back injury while Michael Owen has been struggling with a thigh injury. However, both of them is likely to figure on the match sheet against Newcastle on Sunday.

Robert Huth is serving his second day of his three match ban.

SUNDERLAND AFC

Injuries: 3

Wes Brown and Lee Cattermole are both sidelined with knee injuries while Danny Rose is out with a hamstring injury.

Swansea is still without the two ankle injured players Chico and Neil Taylor while Darnel Situ is out with an Achilles injury.

Tottenham has also added a few extra players to their injury list since last week. Emmanuel Adebayor is doubtful due to a knee injury while Moussa Dembélé sustained a knee injury against Arsenal. Clint Dempsey is out with a calf injury while both Tom Huddlestone and Younes Kaboul are out with knee injuries. The same matters for the midfielder Sandro.

Chris Brown is rated doubtful for the match against Swansea while both Zoltán Gera and George Thorne are out with knee injuries.

Joe Cole, George McCartney, Mark Noble and Kevin Nolan along with James Tomkins are all rated doubtful for the next match. Furthermore, the Hammers will have to do without Daniel Potts due to a head injury.

There are doubts about Antolin Alcaraz who is in lack of match fitness and Fyvie Fraser returning from a muscle injury. Emmerson Boyce is struggling with a hamstring injury and will probably not be ready for the match against Reading. Meanwhile, Albert Crusat and Iván Ramis both are both sidelined with knee injuries. Michael Pollitt is confirmed to be out for at least 5 more months while there is no return date of Ryo Miyachi and Ben Watson.

Both Gabriel Agbonlahor and Karim El Ahmadi were unavailable due to illness in the weekend. However, both players should be ready for the match against Arsenal. Gary Gardner is set to return in May while there are no return dates of Richard Dunne and Stilian Petrov.

Meanwhile, Haris Vuckic is still out for the rest of the season while Taylor might return later this month. Dan Gosling and Danny Simpson will still be sidelined for a couple of weeks.

The Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is fighting to get back in fitness, but should be available for the match against Arsenal on the 24th. The same matters for Laurent Koscielny, who has been on the lazaret with a calf injury. Jack Wilshere was subbed off against Sunderland with an unknown leg injury, but are expected to return within a week. Kieran Gibbs is sidelined until mid March with a thigh injury while Thomas Vermaelen is struggling with an ankle injury.

Fulham's new signing Eyong Enoh is still a couple of weeks from full fitness and from being in contention for starts. However, there is a chance he will be considered for the match against Stoke City. Mahamadou Diarra is out with a knee injury until late February while there are no return dates for Neil Etheridge and Kerim Frei.

NEWCASTLE UNITED FC

Injuries: 11

Newcastle United is missing a whole starting XI, before the weekends match against Norwich. However, Cisse, Coloccini, Gutierrez, Cabaye and Steven Taylor is reported to comeback on the 12th of January. Both Perch and Simpson is set to return next week, while Ben Arfa is out until early February. The comeback from Dan Gosling is still to be confirmed, while Vuckic will return in May and Ryan Taylor finally is back in March.

Shola Ameobi is serving a 1 match ban. 

FULHAM FC

Injuries: 8

John Arne Riise and Damian Duff are both out with a calf/shin injury, while Stephen Kelly is out with a knee injury. The veteran goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer is struggling with his neck and Mladen Petric with an injured hamstring. However, all of the five players are set to return in the weekend. Etheridge, Diarra and Davies are out for an unknown time.

Only Nathan Baker is reported to be close to a comeback date. He will return from his hamstring injury in the weekend. Gardner will return from his ACL knee injury in may, while there is no confirmed date of Albrighton, Westwood,Vlaar, Dunne and Petrov.

Harry Redknapp is struggling to save QPR from relegation, and his chances are not looking any better with seven injuries at the moment. Hoilett and Zamora have a fair chance of a comeback next week, while Johnson is out until March with his ACL knee injury. Granero, Traore, Bosingwa and Ephraim are out for an unknown period of time.

Both Aguero and Rodwell are out with a hamstring injury while Maicon and Richards have trouble with their knees. Toure is out with an illness and Kolarov is struggling with a hip/thigh injury. There is no confirmed return date of any of the six players.

With some luck, Norwich can have Grant Holtback from his hamstring injury for the weekends match against Newcastle. The same matters for Howson who has been out with a knock. The Gunners has added yet another goalkeeper to the injury list as Mannone has joined Fabianski. The return dates of the two goalies is still to be confirmed.
