Great Dane Football Blog - UK Edition gives a view on what's worth watching in football. This week features a Swedish derby,Europa League final, Italien fight and possible a trophy winning match in England!

AIK Stockholm - DjurgårdenIF
Allsvenskan Round 8
Råsunda Stadion
08-05-2012 at 18.00 BST

Head-to-head (Last 10 matches):

AIK Stockholm: 2 victories / 9 goals

        Draws: 4

Djurgården IF: 4 victories / 11 goals

James Keene
The traditional Stockholm Derby between AIK and Djurgården is certainly worth watching. This two teams hate losing too each other, and the match will be full of intense duels and fights on the midfield. AIK Stockholm is currently positioned as number three in Allsvenskan, while the rival from  Djurgården is to be found positioned as number eleven. Djurgården has won three of the last four meetings, but AIK will do anything to stop them from doing it again. It is worth  keeping an eye in the former Portsmouth striker James Keene. Keene is on a loan in Djurgården, where he so far has scored three goals in six matches.

Atletico Madrid - Athletico Bilbao
UEFA Europa League Final
Bucharest National Arena
09-05-2012 at 19.45 BST

Head-to-head (Last 10 matches):

 Atletico Madrid: 5 victories / 15 goals

           Draws: 0

Athletico Bilbao: 5 victories / 14 goals

Falcao
Evil tongues say that UEFA wanted a Spanish Champions League final; instead they got a Spanish Europa League. And what a match we have on our hands: Athletico Bilbao has surprised everyone this year, showing great football in the Champions League as well as in the Europa League. On the other side, Madrid has also shown good form and is unbeaten in four matches, in a row. Goals is guaranteed in this match, with Europa League topscorer Falcao and Andrián Lopez and Fernando Llorente on the pitch. Well worth watching!

Dortmund - Bayern Munich
DFB Pokal
Olympic Stadium
12-05-2012 at 19.00 BST

Head-to-head (last 10 matches):

     Dortmund: 5 victories / 14 goals

        Draws: 2

Bayern Munich: 3 victories / 15 goals

Robert Lewandowski
The two giants in German football clash in this DFB Pokal final. Dortmund has already won the league and has the chance to win the double. However, this is Bayern Munich’s chance to win some domestic honor in this season, even though the players focus might be on the Champions League final next week. The last four matches have ended with a Dortmund win, and this one might just be another one, but finals are of unsound mind. It will be interesting to see which of the two top strikers, Mario Gomez (Munich) or Robert Lewandowski (Dortmund), will be most decisive in this match.

Lazio - Inter Milan
Italian Serie A Round 38
Olimpico
13-05-2012 at 19.45 BST

Head-to-head (Last 10 matches):

Lazio: 2 victories / 7 goals

Draws: 1

Inter: 7 victories / 16 goals

Diego Milito
Both Lazio and Inter have not quite had the season they were hoping for. Currently they are positioned as number five and six, with only one point separating them, before Sundays match. Lazio can with a win, set back Inter in the chase of the Europa League Qualification for next season, but they have to be aware of the top striker, Diego Milito. Inter will attack from the first whistle blow and bombard the Lazio goal! I look forward to this one!

Manchester City - Queens Park Rangers
English Premier League Round 38
Etihad Stadium
13-05-2012 at 15.00 BST

Head-to-head (Last 3 matches):

    Manchester City: 2 victories / 7 goals

              Draws: 0

Queens Park Rangers: 1 victory / 5 goals

Carlos Tevez
Queens Park Rangers will need a win to be hundred percent sure to stay out of relegation, while Manchester City can needs a win to win the league. However, it is most unlikely that City will do so, as they will love to bring the trophy to Etihad Stadium with a win. This match is going to be interesting, as both teams has something on stake. Unfortunately for QPR, I think Manchester City is going to win this one, but never say never. I will particularly keep an eye on Carlos Tevez, as the Argentinean has the strength to split the QPR defends into pieces.
